Abstract

This article addresses human trafficking, which is a grave violation of human rights and one of the fastest-growing criminal industries in the world, endangering the security of people globally. The study focuses on the cross-border trafficking of women and girls between India and Nepal, emphasising how persistent this issue is despite both nations' adherence to national anti-trafficking legislation and international agreements. The article dives into the underlying reasons for the prevalence of trafficking and looks at several definitions of the crime. Human trafficking has grown into a lucrative business in South Asia, especially in the BBIN subregion, where forced labour, sexual exploitation, the organ trade, and domestic slavery fuel it. This illegal industry has expanded dramatically over the past decade, which has increased the need for a deeper comprehension of the elements sustaining its continued existence.
