Abstract

The political role of Gujjar women in Himachal Pradesh is explored through secondary data in this study based on election trends and how they interact with Panchayati Raj institutions. Gujjar women face various problems, such as gender discrimination, illiteracy, and lack of institutional backing, even though the Constitution guarantees women’s representation. This study analyzes scholarly literature, state resources, and election statistics to determine their contribution to local politics. Despite the fact that reservations have become a better-known concept, there are still barriers to meaningful participation. The research contains certain suggestions for enhancing the leadership and democracy of Gujjar women.
