Abstract:
India is a rural country, where a large portion of the population still lives in villages. Social, economic, and administrative disparities in rural areas have led to uneven development. To address these problems, the Government of India has launched several schemes, of which the Integrated Rural Development Scheme is of particular importance. This scheme aims to empower the rural poor by providing them with self-employment, income generation, and basic amenities to make them self-reliant. In this research paper, Deoli tehsil of Rajasthan state has been selected as the study area, and the functional deficiencies existing under the Integrated Rural Development Scheme have been analysed. Functional deficiencies refer to areas where there are deficiencies in administrative capacity, resource availability, plan implementation, or service delivery. This study is based on a descriptive and analytical approach using secondary data. The present study categorises functions/sub-functions into three groups: high services, medium services, and low services, and offers practical suggestions at the end of the paper.
Keywords:
