Abstract

The evolution of the Indian educational framework has reached a critical juncture with the introduction of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This research paper explores the strategic shift from "integration" to "true inclusion" as envisioned in the policy. By aligning with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act 2016, NEP 2020 seeks to dismantle the systemic barriers that have historically marginalised learners with special needs. Through a qualitative analysis of the policy’s provisions—ranging from School Complexes to the PARAKH assessment framework—this paper argues that the success of these reforms hinges on a fundamental shift in pedagogical mindset and robust infrastructure development.
